EU PROJECT ON BEHALF OF UI
- I am now starting up a new EU project under the auspices of the Swedish Institute of International Affairs on the way forward for the European Security Strategy. A 6-month research grant has been received from the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. This work will focus less on the procedural debate and more on the substance under discussion in different EU contexts - updates both of geographic and thematic strategies.
OSCE PROJECT ON BEHALF OF OSCE CHAIR
- In parallel I will be reporting on my OSCE project on behalf of the OSCE Chairmanship which now enter its public phase - 7-8 May there was a first 3-hour debate among OSCE participating States in Vienna on the main conclusions of the study currently being revised. The debate will no doubt continue throughout the year also in the context of a number of seminars on the vision of a Euratlantic and Eurasian security community - 10 May in Warsaw, 12 June in Paris and 3 July in Moscow.

During the first four months of its existence this website has been developed
- to support research and teaching on the EU as a security actor for the Swedish National Defence College,
- on the EU and IAEA for SIPRI (article published by SIPRI)
- on the cooperation between the OSCE and other international organizations for the Irish Chair of that organization (report to be presented in beginning of May)
I will report on this work regularly on the website and on several associated blogs, including in Swedish - I have been invited to contribute to the UI blog.
For those who have taken the time to look into the website and the webbrain library behind I have now accumulated around 1250 references, mostly directly downloadable. The reader will for instance find at least 50 documents on Iran, a large number of studies relating the EEAS, at least 20 documents on cybersecurity, and direct links to a large number of web portals.
Currently the website has recorded around 37.000 page views in four months
